During conversation  with our clients we meet with a number of issues that are regularly repeated. Normally they are the primary questions in which you are asking about the benefits of construction, price range, but particularly  also the versatility of the panel system Topkimall for construction of LEH – low - energy houses.

For your convenience, we post some of the most frequently asked questions on our website a along with our answers. Some questions required complicated answers others, rather brief one. It depends mainly on questions specificity and its importance.

Can Kimall technology build any structure?

In principle there is no object, which could not by coped technically with tehermosteel. But its advantages will be  most obvious at buildings which are not higher than 3 storeys, and are not wider than 18 meters. At this type,  there is no need to create supporting structure and it fully expresses all the price and construction speed benefits of the building.

Won´t  the polystyrene evaporate in the structure or couldn´t the interior panels be damaged by rodents?

It is important to express that we use only stabilized polystyrene with added fire inhibitors, which doesn’t  age as this accrues on  poor quality polystyrene, and which is used for example in packaging. In addition, polystyrene panel is completely enclosed in the overall structure of the wall and even without access to air, UV radiation and any insects or rodents. Practice has also shown that our material is not „tasty“ for  them an  so far, no damage like this has been recorded.

It is possible that stronger wind may damage the building or even „blow“ it away?

The structure is anchored to concrete foundations with steel anchors and each is reinforced with steel elements. During certification of elements in the Testing and Research building Institute in Bratislava, the elements have been strained by lateral pressure, as is the action of wind. The results were excellent. High wind stability and resilience of the thermosteel construction system was demonstrated for example during the memorial storm in the High Tatras in  2004 (wind speed exceeded 165 km / h), when our construction - concrete superstructure – didn’t record any damage.

I fear for my safety. Couldn’t I kick through such low energy prefabricated construction  with my own feet?

In any case, you will fail. Inside  the panel there isn’t  30 cm, where steel profile would absent. Finished walls withstand even a rifle shot. To overcome the wall you would need  difficult and heavy instruments and a lot of time. The same tools could be also used  to  overcome through a brick wall ... In addition, it is just an academic question, since it is much easier to break the window.

Doesn’t the house, have increased loudness when walking inside it? Doesn’t it resound?

In dealing with the the details to prevent impact of the walking sound we took extra care. Ceilings have a double system of floating floors with concrete membrane, which is the only wet process during the construction. Peripheral walls are on the external side sheathed with solid, anti -  fire planks, followed by multilayer plaster system. From the interior side, under the gypsum plaster  system sound-insulating boards are installed. The resultant wall structure provides "air inadmissibility " according to current hygienic standards, certified by an authorized testing laboratory.

How long „life“ can be expected from low - energy building such as a prefabricated house?

Virtually unlimited. There are no elements that could eventually degraded, and so the wear is limited to installation and wear surfaces, which are consistent with other technologies used. In addition, we performed lifetime tests in aggressive saline environments (TSÚS workplace in Tatranská Štrba). The test results showed the highest possible degree evaluation, which allows us to guarantee 50 years long „life“ for our construction, and life length for  masonry systems are considered 25 years.

Aren’t there harmful vapours in the construction?

The only material that gets into contact with you is the plasterboard. This material is absolutely environmentally friendly, is PH is neutral and has excellent properties in maintaining the optimal environment humidity. Therefore it is applied in such a wide range in all building systems and technologies.

Isn’t the building cooler or cold for inhabitants?

Quite the contrary! Thermosteel system has an excellent thermal insulation with thermal resistance R = 4.1 m2.K / W. According to one of our customers (construction engineer from Podolínec) at external temperature of minus 30 ° C, inside a closed building with no heating, a bucket of water didn’t freeze. Experience of our clients and our calculations and analysis is currently seeking to review the merits of the conventional heating systems with central heating and gas as a heat source. Comparison of wall thickness of various building materials to achieve thermal resistance R = 4.1 m2.K / W.

What is the cost advantage of low - energy house construction?

Generally speaking, at  general construction, (the other interior work and deliveries are the same) this system saves  approximately 30% . Other effects arise from the short construction period from 6 to 8 weeks, excluding lifting mechanisms to minimize construction equipment and facilitate the establishment of structures (because of the low weight of the whole structure). Some buildings are even more time and financial favorable, such as extensions of already existing buildings.
